Former So You Think You Can Dance contestant Neil Haskell is set to join the off-broadway production The Altar Boyz. The musical won the 2005 Outer Critics Circle award. Neil’s run will begin on April 22.
Former Dancing with the Stars contestant Joey McIntyre appeared on the Today Show today, along with the other New Kids on the Block to confirm the rumor that they are indeed reunited.
I realize that this is only tangentially related to Dancing with the Stars, but the amount of joy this has brought me needs to be spread out into the world.
They have recorded a new album of music and will also be touring in the future. They will have their first performance on the Today Show on May 16th.
The photo is their official press release photo and I think that they have all aged quite well.
Here is a video of Priscilla Presley performing the tango on week three of Dancing with the Stars. It was one of my favorite routines this week.

Steve Guttenberg was eliminated this week on Dancing with the Stars. Unfortunately his enthusiasm and vibrant happiness was not enough to pull him through.
I think that ABC should have him come back and do some segments or something, the way that they have done with last year’s contestant Cameron Mathison. He seems like he just enjoys being there and could help the remaining contestants get fired up.
I thought it was rude at the very end when he said that he wanted to say one thing that was important and the hosts told him “no” and made him go do his “final dance.” Lame.
Dancing with the Stars contestant Jason Taylor has a blog on ESPN. In his latest entry, he discusses Len Goodman’s comment to him about being a feather duster this week. Thinking positively, Jason joked that he hopes to make some money off of the unfortunate comment:
A feather duster? I guess housekeepers use ’em. But that was an interesting comment. I like that, though. I’m going to find out who makes feather dusters, and we’re going to get an endorsement deal.
He also discusses his fear that his Miami Dolphin teammates are going to give him grief for being named one of the hottest 10 men on television by US Weekly magazine. He adds that all of the dancing will likely help his agility on the field when he finally gets back to playing football.

In addition to ice skater and ballroom dancer, Dancing with the Stars contestant Kristi Yamaguchi is also a blogger. She has posted blog entries for OK! Magazine about her experiences on the show.
She revealed that her partner Mark Ballas was just as nervous as she was while waiting to hear the results on the stage last week. She also stated that her four year old daughter Keara Kyiomi may be a future dancer, because she has been able to pick up some of the choreography of Kristi’s first routine by watching the video.

Marlee Matlin and Fabian Sanchez – (Jive) I liked this routine a lot. It was fun and very energetic. I thought that her feet work was pretty good, considering how fast it was. Scores: 7/7/7
Steven Guttenberg and Anna Trebunskaya – (Tango) I thought that he tried too hard to look serious during this dance and he ended up looking a bit silly. I thought that he did an okay job. Scores 7/7/7
Cristià¡n de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke – (Jive): He danced with a sea lion earlier this week to learn how to have fun while dancing. It seemed to work because he had a goofy grin the entire dance. This dance was very high energy and I thought that his footwork was really good. At the end he slid on the floor and accidently hit one of the floor lights, but he still had the silly grin on his face. I think he took Steve Gutenberg’s happy energy for the week. Scores: 8/8/9
Priscilla Presley and Louis van Amstel – (Tango): This was a great dance for her because her face is so naturally expressionless anyway, it was not much of a stretch. I thought that she did a great job, especially interacting with her partner. There were a few footwork parts that could have been improved it, but I was entertained. She is really growing on me. Scores: 8/9/9
Dancing with the Stars professional Cheryl Burke is opening her own dance studio in San Francisco, California. The studio, set to open next month, will provide dance lessons for people of all ages and skill levels.
The studio opens with a gala on April 4th, which will feature her performing with former partner Drew Lachey. Earlier this month, the duo had to fight off rumors of an affair between the two of them while on the DWTS tour. Lachey, of course, is a married man.
Lachey won’t be the only DWTS cast member to attend the gala, as Jerry Rice, host Tom Bergeron and Cheryl’s current star partner, Cristià¡n de la Fuente are all expected to attend.
Former Dancing with the Stars contestant Laila Ali is expecting her first child. She and husband Curtis Conway were married last summer. Conway has three children from a previous relationship.
Laila Ali told Essence magazine that “I don’t know yet if we are having a boy or a girl, but I’m excited that I have a life inside me that my husband and I created.†She added that “I am 100 percent undeniably happy,†Ali says. “I’ve never been able to say that before.â€
The baby is due this fall.
Earlier tonight, Penn Jillette was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars. Tennis star Monica Seles was just named the first female contestant to be heading home.
On another note, although I usually find the interview segments throughout the show to be rather boring and just a general waste of time, I thought that Adam Carolla’s comment that Julianne Hough and Derek Hough look like they are from The Stepford family was funny. It is truth that they are both rather perfect looking.
