Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas - Dance 1: (Quick Step): They had a permitted lift at the end per the new rules. It wasn’t that exciting. The rest of dance was pretty entertaining though. I especially like their solo dancing part. Scores 9/10/10; Dance 2: (Samba): A very fun routine, although Kristi looked like she had a Tweety Bird in her hair. I really liked all of the spins. The judges were not as impressed with her and they usually are. Scores: 8/9/9
Mario and Karina Smirnoff - Dance 1: (Viennese Waltz) What a beautiful and romantic dance. I thought that Mario did a wonderful job and was very impressed with their lift. Scores: 9/9/9 Dance 2: (Jive): This was an entertaining routine throughout, but the lift thing at the end was awkward and rough. Len called his feet big and ugly, while Bruno called it “the spirit of rock and roll.” Scores: 9/8/9
Marissa Jaret Winokur and Tony Dovolani - Dance 1: (Fox Trot): This was a very good routine, although not really spectacular. Their lift was good at the end. I predicted at least one judge would say that it had too many Broadway elements for Fox Trot and Bruno did just that. Scores: 9/8/8 ; Dance 2: (Mambo): I liked this one quite a bit, especially the spins at the end. She has great enthusiasm that I can’t help but love. Scores: 8/8/9.
Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska -Dance 1: (Tango) Although it was a good technical dance, I thought it was a bit boring. The lift was not that impressive to me, I guess because he just picked her up and is so strong it didn’t look like much work? Maybe I am expecting too much. Scores: 10/9/10 ; Dance 2: (Samba) Scores: He kept looking down again and I thought that she was doing a lot of the moves and he was not doing so much. The lift at the end was very impressive, though, where Edyta practically did a headstand on his shoulders at the end. Scores: 8/7/8
Cristián de la Fuente and Cheryl Burke - Dance 1: (Tango): I have to admit that the one arm lift was pretty impressive, but the rest of the dance he was obviously trying not to move one side of his body. The judges said that they couldn’t tell he was injured, but I disagree. (what’s new?) Scores: 10/9/9 ; Dance 2: (Mambo): I was more impressed with his one-armed dancing in this routine, I think because of the speed. It was quite energetic and fun. Scores: 10/9/10
Who do you think is going home? It will probably be Marissa, although I would like to see her around some more. So much so that I actually voted for the first time since I started watching this show.

What a crock. Kristi and Mario and Marissa and Jason work in lots of difficult footwork (and sometimes bite off more than they can chew) and Cristian walks through most of the first routine and stands while Cheryl shimmies around him for most of the second and they get to the top of the leader board?
These last few weeks of the competition are always the worst. It’s so patently obvious some judges (yes, YOU Carrie Ann) are playing favorites and doing positioning. It makes me crazy.
The biggest crock was Marissa and Cristian being saved and Mario going home. Marissa simply should no longer be there. Even Marlee and Shannon were better than her and they are gone.
